Synopsis[]

An expedition led by Misako, Master Wu and Clutch Powers goes missing while exploring an uncharted island and the ninja must pick up their trail.[citation needed]

Extended: When the Ninja learn that Master Wu, Misako, and Clutch powers have gone missing on an expedition to an uncharted island, they launch a rescue mission. Recruiting Twitchy Tim, the only person to ever return from this mysterious island, the ninja must brave the dangerous storm belt to reach its shore.[1]

Summary[]

Misako, Wu, and Clutch Powers, accompanied by Dwayne and other assistants, are exploring a strange jungle when they encounter a totem pole that suddenly comes alive and splits into segments to surround them. Back at the Monastery of Spinjitzu, P.I.X.A.L. approaches Lloyd in the vehicle bay, where he has been up all night monitoring surveillance regarding the escaped inmates from Kryptarium Prison, who remain at large. Lloyd is somewhat troubled that the Ninjago City Police have hired Ronin to capture the criminals, but they are interrupted by the arrival of Cecil Putnam. The pompous Explorer's Club member informs the Ninja that Misako's membership has been cancelled due to disappearing on an expedition to the Storm Belt, a tumultuous region of the Endless Sea.

Determined to locate their missing friends, the Ninja board the Destiny's Bounty to seek out Timothy Batterson, the only man known to have returned from a previous excursion to the island. However, upon finding "Twitchy Tim", they discover that the experience seems to have had a negative effect upon him. Eventually, however, he agrees to accompany them, and the group heads to the Storm Belt only to find it impervious to their radar. Tim recounts how he only reached the island after a hot air balloon he was riding in crash-landed, and P.I.X.A.L. advises her friends to continue the journey by catamaran.

After a harrowing journey, in which Zane-using a smaller sailcraft-helps the others make it through dangerous lightning-attracting rocks, the group arrives on a beach. Pixal then launches a trio of Jungle Choppers through the storm, and the Ninja and Tim board them. They soon come across Misako's camp, and a message of "help" spelled out in rocks on the nearby beach. The Ninja determine that they must search the jungle, despite Tim's warnings against the mysterious statues.
