Userpage design goes viral!
Back in February this year I created a new userpage design to make my userpage more simpler and easier to use. However I soon grew to dislike the new design and before I scrapped it, Mr. Minifigure adopted and still currently uses it today. Since then numerous users have adopted the new design altering it to their preferences. Currently I have found the following people using my userpage design:

All I can say is that I'm flattered that so many of you like the userpage design. :) Kind regards.

8831 Minifigures Series 7 now available at Sainsbury's (United Kingdom)
8831 Minifigures Series 7
I popped into my local Sainsbury's this morning and I found the Series 7 minifigures priced at the standard RRP of £1.99 each so I've taken a picture to show you all. The packaging appears to be no different to the images we've seen already however I did not look at the bar-code. It appears that Sainsbury's are releasing the new series of Collectable Minifigures one month ahead of schedule.

Present 1 - 1st December 2011
Ok, so the first present from me is an automatic music player which can be used on your userpage, talkpage or blogs. To use the feature create a page called MediaWiki:MusicUserPage<username> and then add the following code:
<div style="width: 202px; overflow: hidden; height: 21px; margin-top: 5px;
margin-bottom: 5px; margin-right: 5px; position: relative; top: 108px;
border: 3px outset #0f0f0f">
<iframe  width="388" height="23" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/<code>
?rel=0&autoplay=1" frameborder="0" allowFullScreen></iframe>

Where <code> is, find the video with music you wish to having playing on YouTube and then take the code from the URL. I.e if we're using http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMAIpqYP7Ls&feature=related then we'd take the jMAIpqYP7Ls and add it where the <code> is and then publish the page. Then last of all, add <verbatim>MusicUserPage<username></verbatim> to where ever you want the music to automatically play.

Now when someone visits your userpage they will be greeted with your favourite music! :) Enjoy and if you have any technical difficulties, please contact me on my talk page. Thanks, kind regards.

My proudest contribution to one article here at Brickipedia this year!
Today I feel that I have made my best contribution to a mainspace article this year as I spent over half an hour writing the following text for the Sandtrooper minifigure article, moving the rating from Class 4 to Class 2. I added the following to the article:

Description

First variant (2004)

The Sandtrooper minifigure made its first appearance in 2004 in 4501 Mos Eisley Cantina. The minifigure at the time was nearly identical to the Stormtrooper but with an added orange pauldron on the right shoulder. This variant only made one appearance.

Second variant (2007)

Sand Trooper

The second variant of the Sandtrooper.

Three years later, the Sandtrooper made its second appearance in physical form in 2007 in 7659 Imperial Landing Craft. In 2007 the Stormtrooper minifigure was redesigned and so was the Sandtrooper because of this. Just like the first variant, the Sandtrooper was nearly identical to the newly redesigned Stormtrooper apart from an added orange pauldron on the right shoulder. The minifigure featured a black head underneath the helmet. This variant only made one appearance.

Third variant (2010)

23ST

The third variant of the Sandtrooper.

Once again, three years later, the Sandtrooper is redesigned and made its third appearance in 2010 in 8092 Luke's Landspeeder. This time only the minifigures accessories had been redesigned, featuring a black pauldron instead of an orange one, and a backpack. The minifigure featured a black head underneath the helmet. This variant only made one appearance.

Fourth variant (2012)

Two years later, the Sandtrooper is redesigned once again and made its fourth appearance in 2012 in 9490 Droid Escape. This time the minifigure has been redesigned substantially featuring new realistic details on the torso and legs of damage to the armour due to sand storms etc... This variant features the same backpack accessory as the third variant released in 2010. These variants only made one appearance.

Squad Leader variant

Stormtroop 9490

The Squad Leader variant.

The Squad Leader variant features the orange pauldron from the 2007 variation and the backpack from the 2010 variation of the Sandtrooper. The torso, legs and helmet of the Squad Leader look identical to that of the Sergeant. On the 9490 Droid Escape box art, the Squad Leader is depicted as piloting a speeder bike.

Sergeant variant

Sandtroop 9490-2

The Sergeant variant.

The Sergeant variant features a brand new white pauldron and the backpack from the 2010 variation of the Sandtrooper. The torso, legs and helmet of the Sergeant look identical to that of the Squad Leader. On the 9490 Droid Escape box art, the Sergeant is holding a 1x1 stud piece that may be intended to resemble a hologram plate.

Video game variant

In the video games the Sandtrooper is identical to the second variation of the Sandtrooper released in 2007 but with a megaphone for a blaster instead of the new blaster.

Update - 7th November, 2011
Play this video while reading this please, thanks. :D)

Well, it's been a while since I've given you an update and (whether you care or not) I have a few things to tell you about:

  • The first thing is that I'm (this is compulsory) re-taking my Maths GCSE Module on Wednesday, 9th November 2011. Therefore I apologise for lack of activity for the next two days.
  • Secondly, this blog will be re-designed again this weekend to make it a lot more easier to use, read and navigate through. More information on this will come soon...
  • Thirdly, signatures etc... I'm really sorry, but for now I won't be taking on any more signature, custom award requests etc for the time being. This is nothing personal towards any users. It's just that it's time consuming and isn't of massive importance compared to the integrity of the site. We should be focusing on contributing to Brickipedia.
  • Fourthly, about being more of a LEGO fansite. NXT and I are working hard editing the CSS and JS of the site to make the experience here at Brickipedia more LEGO fansite like, not only for our viewers, but for you. If you have any ideas on how to make the site more LEGO fansite like, please feel free to leave your ideas on my talk page. Thanks, your ideas will be much appreciated! :)
  • And last of all, I will (hopefully) be here on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day to talk to you guys. And for those who don't celebrate Christmas, I wish you all a happy holiday!

Steve Jobs, the world's greatest visionary!
From my Facebook wall:

"The Apple Visionary, Steve Jobs has died at the age of 56 (February 24, 1955 – October 5, 2011). If you didn't already know, Steve was the inventor of the iPod, iPhone, and iPad as well as making Apple the number 1 company in economic growth in the world! He will be missed!"

He will be well and truly missed not as a great man, but a leader of the future for generations to come!

Update (well - kind of...)
I've got a lot of things to tell you guys but first I have re-designed the Brickipedia blog (a link can be found in the post below). Please create an account or use your existing Google account (if you have one) and subscribe to it to recieve updates about Brickipedia.
Users helping to update the blog would be useful too. If you want to do this just sign-up/sign-in to the blog and post a comment on any post on the blog. Then leave a message on my talk page and I will consider making you an author on the blog allowing you to update it by posting the latest news.

Next, you may have noticed that I'm in the process of re-designing my userpage. This may take up to a whole month to complete. Until then, I apologise for any inconvenience caused by this.

Finally (for now) I have created my own personal wiki, (similar to that of CJC's wiki) What I will do with it is to be decided...

LEGO Titanic Project (Minifigure-scale)
Yes, it's true, I'm currently working on a LEGO minifigure-scale model of the famous steam-liner of its time, Titanic.
RMS Titanic 3

The liner sank on its maiden voyage back on the 15th April 1912 in the North Atlantic after it struck an ice-berg. The liner sank in less than two hours and claimed the lives of over 1500 of the 2200 souls on-board.

With less than a year left till the 100th Anniversary of the sinking of RMS Titanic I have decided to create a LEGO minifigure-scale model of the liner. The entire creation of the ship may take several years but I'm determined to make this work. The following steps will be made:

  • Design the liner bit by bit building one section at a time using LDD
  • Put the entire ship together on LDD.
  • Buy all the pieces.
  • Buy just over 2,200 minifigures (yes, I know it's allot).
  • Build the ship bit by bit.

If all this succeeds I will consider doing the following to it:

  • Hire out a swimming pool capable of holding the entire size of the ship (can you guess what I'm doing here?)

Now we all know that a LEGO brick can float on water, the question is, can hundreds of thousands of LEGO bricks do the same? These are the two possibilities:

  • One: it sinks as soon as it's lowered into the pool.
  • Or Two: it stays afloat letting water flow in at a slow rate.

If it floats, I will take it out of the water and to the correct scale, take a line of bricks out of the star-board side of the ship. I will then place it back in the water and video it sinking.

If it sinks then the ship will be raised and I will insert little bags or something that will hold air within them to help it stay afloat. Hence when I take the gap out, It would hopefully sink at a slow rate.

Now onto the actual building of the liner. So far I have started to build the bridge and a third class corridor. The picture below shows the start of the construction of the bridge along with some other parts that may be used to build other parts of the interior within the liner.

Titanic Bridge Part 1

A seperate blog will be made at some point where all the information about the construction of this liner will be.

All comments would be much appreciated! Thanks, kind regards.

Duplicate Badges...
For some reason users seem to be getting duplicate badges, sometimes in pairs of two, three or even four! Some users may have already of experienced this, but now I have experienced it for the first time. Hopefully this glitch will be fixed by Wikia.
