W. Wald is a Star Wars minifigure released in June 2011.

Description

Wald has a Sand Green Rodian head with darker green ears and dots at the front, as well as dark blue eyes. He has an Orange torso with sand green hands. His torso depicts a top with two buttons near his head at the left, several creases around his body, and a dark brown belt with yellow at each end. Wald has Tan short legs.

Background

Wald was a Rodian friend of Anakin Skywalker in their childhood years. He lived on Tatooine with his family, who had moved to Mos Espa only shortly before the Invasion of Naboo. He helped Anakin as he built a podracer. Wald was known as a petty thief and vandal, and graffiti proclaiming Watto to be a "dirty old bird" was attributed to him. Wald always managed to share his illicit earnings with his friends, and his friendship with Anakin was strong.

Notes

• Wald is the third Rodian minifigure produced after Greedo and Onaconda Farr.
• He is also the fourth minifigure depicting a character played by actor Warwick Davis, the first being Wicket W. Warrick from Star Wars, the second being Griphook from Harry Potter, and the third being Professor Flitwick also from Harry Potter. Davis has had more of his characters made into minifigures than any other actor.
• Wald and Greedo are two different characters. Greedo (Child) redirects to Wald's page, however, this is inaccurate.
